Recently I wrote a post about how to find out if you are getting mobile traffic. This post is to show if there are mobile users looking for you or using related search terms, which means potential business and why you must have a mobile optimized site.
I used Google Keyword tool to find this out. Just Google “keyword tool” and you will find it or click here . It is a free tool provided by Google.
I searched for “Hotels in Vancouver”, I kept the location as All Countries and language English. The next step was to select “All Mobile Devices” for the field show ideas and statistics. Basically I chose to see stats on people using mobile phones to search for Hotels in Vancouver.
Then I chose to do an exact match search. This is an option available in the sidebar and by selecting exact match I am asking the tool to only search traffic for the keywords exactly how I entered it.
This is what I get as a result. For the keywords Hotels in Vancouver there are 390 searches done on average globally.
Ok, you may think this is not high. Keep in mind this is only for the keywords I searched for.
I also get related keywords people are using to search on their mobile phones. Have a look at the keywords and the number of searches being done on average using a mobile phone. 1000 searches are being done for keywords “Vancouver Hotels”. I only have a partial list here, follow the steps and look up the rest.
Are you prepared for this traffic? These could be potential bookings or people looking for directions. These are all opportunities to provide a service and connect with a guest.
Anyone who does not have a mobile optimized site will fall behind.
