In all our years in the hospitality industry two things have always held true. First change is constant, particularly since technology has had such an integral part of all facets of the business from marketing through service delivery. The pace of change spurred on by companies like Google has transformed the consumer landscape. Second hoteliers have a powerful thirst for knowledge, looking to any and all sources for new learning.
What irks us about this is that the source for knowledge has come from the supply side of the business; not that we have any issues with suppliers. We are lucky to have some of the best and brightness entrepreneurial companies delivering product and services to our industry. Our issue is that articles are written by suppliers come back to a root goal of selling the product or service. This doesn’t mean they are wrong; what is written is self serving and skewed to support their business.
Enter Rethink Hotels. This is our answer to the need in the industry to provide a resource for hoteliers to get an unbiased opinion on varied topics. For now our focus is on what we know best Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, Web Distribution, Analytics and how Hotel Technology can support the business.
